Cottonwood has long been recognized for its anti inflammatory, anti microbial and healing properties, and used to treat aches and pains as well as for its lovely sweet and balsamic aroma.  We infuse cottonwood buds in extra virgin olive oil and stabilize with beeswax.  Uplifting scent makes it a go-to balm.
